choreography of trust is a collaborative project between 2 artists – Cat Sivertsen in Canada and Sarah Grace Dye in Germany – reconnecting their relational values of aesthetic, respect and trust that had been lost due to 13 years of 7,500 kms of separation.

The project began in January 2020 as an exchange post-artcards created on recycled materials – each artist initiated a card with an image or text and upon receipt in the post of that card the other responded with text or image. The project was to culminate after 6 months during their residency @ Omineca Arts Centre in Prince George north central BC.

Covid interrupted their plans forcing the artists to pivot thus shifting their physical residency into a virtual one that included delivering a physical exhibition of the 60+ post-artcards, a physical/virtual opening reception (where Sarah in Iceland at that time) gave an artists talk and they also delivered a physical/virtual artists-book making workshop.

The residency was not what either had in mind however the learning and experience stood them in good sted for the subsequent Covidian parameters of what artmaking and sharing was to become.

The post-artcard content has been described as love letters between two artists longing to be together.
